Showers Likely Thursday; Flurries Possible Friday Night

Here are your Wednesday Evening Connecticut weather headlines from StormTeam8 Senior Meteorologist Fred Campagna:

  • There will not be a long break between rain events in Connecticut. Showers are likely on Thursday.
  • Wednesday night looks cloudy, damp and cool. There may be some patchy mist and drizzle. The wind will relax to 5-10 mph. Lows will range from near 40 inland to the mid 40s at the Shoreline.
  • Thursday starts with cloudy skies. Showers are possible by mid to late morning. There is a better chance of rain in the afternoon and early evening.
  • Highs Thursday will be in the mid 50s with a 10-20 mph southerly wind.
  • The shower threat ends by late Thursday evening. It will become partly cloudy with lows in the 40s at dawn on Friday.
  • Friday looks partly sunny and seasonably mild through midday. Highs will be in the mid 50s.
  • The wind will increase out of the northwest Friday afternoon and night. At the same time, colder weather will arrive. There may also be some precipitation in the mix, and flurries or snow squalls are possible in the Northwest Hills. There is a lower chance of flurries in the rest of the state.
  • The temperature will tumble into the upper 20s to mid 30s by early Saturday morning with 10-25 mph winds.
  • Saturday looks partly to mostly cloudy and blustery. Gusts over 30 mph are likely. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s.
  • Sunday will be sunny and not as cool. Highs will be in the low 50s with less wind.
  • Mild and dry weather is ahead for early next week. Highs may reach 60 again by Tuesday afternoon.
