Foodshare gets $25,000 to help feed those in need

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)  –  CT Foodshare has received a $25,000 grant from Morgan Stanley to help with its efforts to feed hungry children and families.

Foodshare President James Arena-Derosa says “Morgan Stanley is a valuable partner in the fight against hunger and we are grateful for this grant and for the Morgan Stanley employees who show their support by volunteering with us.”

The grant is part of Morgan Stanley’s more than $14 million commitment to Feeding America and its 200 local food banks across the country that distribute millions of meals each year.

According to a 2014 Feeding America study, 89% of their client households with at lest one child do not have reliable access to sufficient, quantity of affordable, nutritious food.
