Rain Arrives Thursday; Mainly Dry Weekend

Here are your Wednesday Evening Connecticut weather headlines from StormTeam8 Senior Meteorologist Fred Campagna:

  • Clouds will thicken Thursday night. Patchy mist is possible by dawn. The temperature will fall into the mid to upper 40s in the evening before rising into the upper 40s to low 50s by dawn.
  • Thursday will be cloudy and damp near the Shoreline with patchy mist early in the day. Scattered showers will develop in the morning. Steadier rain is likely in the afternoon.
  • It looks breezy and mild with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 50s and a south-southeast 10-20 mph breeze.
  • Rain continues Thursday night. It may be briefly heavy at times from late evening until shortly after midnight. It will stay mild with temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s.
  • The wind will stay active out of the south between 10-20 mph Thursday night, and it will shift to the northwest with gusts briefly to 20-30 mph possible early Friday.
  • We are expecting 0.5-1″ of rain from this storm system.
  • It will be very mild before dawn on Friday. The afternoon looks seasonable, with temperatures in the low 50s and partly cloudy skies.
  • Saturday will be a decent day. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s and highs will be in the upper 40s under partly sunny skies. There will be a light breeze. Overall, it’s a great day for leaf clean-up, the Yale-Harvard football game, or to visit StormTeam8 for our Forecast to Help End Hunger Food Drive at ShopRite in East Haven between 11am-2pm!
  • A front moving through Saturday night will bring some rain showers. There is a slight chance snowflakes mix with the rain late at night inland. Lows will be in the mid 30s to low 40s.
  • Sunday will become partly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s.
  • The weather looks quiet for Thanksgiving week. We expect Monday through Thursday to be partly cloudy to mainly clear. Highs will be in the 40s, and lows will be in the 20s to low 30s.
