Make A Home for Vets

(WTNH)– 50,000. That is how many veterans, the people who serve our country and protect our rights as American citizens, are homeless at any given night. Fortunately, there are citizens like Anita Pettengill and Dan Telesco who are willing to lend a helping hand. Together they are the co-founders of the Make a Home Foundation.

The Make a Home Foundation is a nonprofit organization that helps our veterans and their families make their house a home by providing household items, furniture, and beds. That makes the Make a Home Foundation so unique is that their many volunteers ensure that these items are placed directly into the veteran’s hands to ensure they are getting the held they need. “It does so much for their mental health and self-esteem as well,” Mr. Telesco stated. “When you give them the furniture, it gives them a better sense about themselves.” The Make a Home Foundation has an 85% success rate to be exact.
