New Haven police searching for convenience store robber


NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store on Wednesday afternoon.

New Haven police say they were called to the Blake Street Convenience Store at 295 Blake Street at 2:09 p.m. Wednesday for a reported robbery.

Responding officers learned that a man armed with a knife jumped on top of the counter and demanded cash. After taking money from the register, the suspect fled the scene on a trick-bicycle.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, weighing about 150 pounds. Police say he had a goatee and was wearing dark-colored clothing, with mainly dark sneakers at the time of the robbery.
