Police search for smiling suspect

Surveillance captures suspect snickering during attempted robbery (WTNH / Waterford Police Department)

WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Waterford Police have issued a request to the public in the hopes of locating a suspect, pictured smiling, in an attempted robbery at Simply Pharmacy on Route 1 Wednesday night.

Waterford Police were dispatched to Simply Pharmacy at 92 Boston Post Road Wednesday night. According to Waterford Police, the suspect did not display a weapon. In spite of his smile captured on surveillance footage, the individual left without any gains from the attempted robbery.

Waterford Police have asked anyone with any relevant information to contact them either via their Facebook page, titled “Waterford Police Department,” by calling (860) 442-9451, or by e-mailing the investigating officer at pflanagan@waterfordct.org. They have assured that all contacts will be kept confidential.
