Two arrested in Bridgeport while driving stolen moving van

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Two men were arrested in Bridgeport after they were spotted driving a stolen U-Haul van Monday afternoon.

According to police,officers spotted the stolen van parked near the corner of Texas Avenue and East Main Street. The van matched the description of the van that was reported as stolen.

When officer approached the vehicle, they found two males and one female inside. Officers ordered the three occupants to put their hands on the dashboard while they waited for backup to arrive.

Officers identified the driver as 45 year old Vito Badalamenti and the male passenger as 37 year old Randolph Pasnick. Badalamenti stated that he took the van from a man and woman who were returning it to the facility they rented it from on East Main Street.

Both Badalamenti and Pasnick were arrested. Police say Pasnick was found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia while booking him at the department.

Both were charged with larceny, while Pasnick was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia as well.
