HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – A Hartford man who is a convicted felon is facing new charges tonight after police say they found him with a stolen gun wearing a bullet-proof vest.  On Monday police got a tip that a man illegally had a gun on Enfield Street.  When police approached Robert Davis, 31, they say he took off on foot.  Police say he threw down the gun before they caught up with him.  Officers did find the gun.  Police say Davis was wearing a Kevlar vest and had a small amount of cocaine.  Police say the gun they found was reported stolen in Waterford.  Davis is charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, interfering with police, criminal possession of body armor, and possession of narcotics.
