14-year-old shot by hunter at Salmon River State Forest

COLCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) — A 14-year-old is recovering after being shot by a hunter while on his ATV in Colchester.

State Environmental Conservation Police along with State Police were called to Salmon River State Forest near the Larson Lot Wildlife Management Area.

Police say the victim received a pellet wound to his right leg and was taken to the Marlborough Clinic for treatment. Officers searched the area but could not find the suspect. State Environmental Conservation Police are continuing the investigation.
