Two teens arrested for burglarizing former Hamden school

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Two teens were arrested for burglarizing a building in Hamden Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to the site of the former Hamden Middle School at 550 Newhall Street around 1 p.m. to the report of a burglary in progress.

Police say a town employee saw two people, later identified as Brandon Walker and Jabraun Hines, both 19, of New Haven, exit the building and then re-enter it. Later an officer also observed two people walking away from the building and that several pieces of copper piping and copper wiring had been cut from inside and placed near a set of doors.

Both Walker and Hines were then arrested for burglary and criminal attempt to commit larceny. They are both scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on December 11th. Hines also was charged in two arrest warrants originating from Hamden and New Haven.
