DEEP issues permits for power plant construction, operation

OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has issued permits to CPV Towantic Energy LLC that set air pollution control requirements and limits on air emissions for the construction and operation of a power plant off Woodruff Hill Road.

The permits require the facility to comply with air pollution control requirements and meet emissions limits designed to protect human health and the environment.

Electricity generated at the plant would provide power to Connecticut and other states in New England.
