Driver gives barbershop customers near buzz

VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) – People who were getting a haircut at the barbershop at Risley Plaza in Vernon on Wednesday got a close clip.

Officers with the Vernon Police Dept., along with firefighters and EMS personnel, responded to the shop around 1:00 p.m. after a car drove through the front of the building.

Customers and barbers were inside the shop at the time, but no injuries were reported.

The cause was determined to be an accident, and no charges will be filed against the driver.

Building officials inspected the building and determined there was no serious damage to the plaza building.
