Police: Roxbury man wanted to “shoot up the DMV”

ROXBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A Roxbury man has been arrested for allegedly posting a message on Facebook that threatened the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Police say 23-year-old Alexander Villarreal posted that he wanted to “shoot up the DMV.” The Ranney Hill Road man was arrested at his home on Wednesday morning. Authorities say he voluntarily surrendered his weapons at the time of his arrest.

Villarreal is charged with first-degree threatening, first-degree harassment, and breach of peace. He appeared in Bantam Superior Court later on Wednesday and was released on $10,000 bond. He’s due back in court on January 6, 2016.
