Stamford man facing assault, weapon charges

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A Stamford man was arrested for an incident that allegedly happened at a hotel in West Haven.

West Haven Police say they were called to the Hampton Inn Hotel Sunday morning for a reported robbery.  They ended up arresting 25-year-old Michael Anthony Russell, of Aberdeen Street in Stamford.

Russell is facing charges after the alleged incident including first degree sexual assault and third degree sexual assault with a firearm.

Police say a firearm was recovered at the hotel. Russell is being held on $100,000 bond.
