Traffic stop leads to drug bust in Putnam

PUTNAM, Conn. (WTNH) — A Putnam man was arrested Thursday after police discovered drugs during a traffic stop.

According to police, troopers were patrolling Rout 44 in Putnam when they spotted 29 year old Leland Robert. Troopers were aware that there was an active arrest warrant for Roberts.

Police stopped Lambert’s vehicle and placed him under arrest for the active warrant. While officers were making the arrest, they found and took 20 bags of suspected heroin.

Lambert was brought to Troop D and charged with possession of narcotics and failure to appear.
