HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Rank-and-file lawmakers are learning about a tentative plan to cover Connecticut’s budget deficit and make some changes to the state’s business taxes.

Legislative leaders say the proposal will also include changes affecting the 2017 budget.

Final details were still being worked out over the weekend. House Speaker Brendan Sharkey said Friday that a final agreement had not yet been reached with the governor or the Democratic-controlled Senate.

The General Assembly adjourned its regular session in June.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy called the General Assembly back to the state Capitol on Tuesday for a special session on the state budget.

Despite days of closed-door talks, a bipartisan deal couldn’t be reached. However, Democrats are still moving ahead with a vote on Tuesday on a proposal to close a $350 million shortfall.
