Car crash leads to DUI arrest in South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have arrested a 51-year-old man for driving under the influence after responding to a minor car crash Thursday night.

At about 5 p.m., officers from South Windsor responded to a minor accident in the 1300 block of Sullivan Avenue after suspecting the operator was driving drunk.

After a series of roadside sobriety tests, officers arrested Charles Hoxie, 51 of Coventry. Hoxie is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Officers released Hoxie on a $500 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Jan. 4, 2016.
