(WTNH) – The holiday season is all about spending time, and sometimes that can mean spending a lot of money. So how do you trim the spending while trimming the tree?

Watch the video to see great ideas, recipes, and tips on what to buy to maximize the holiday while minimizing the spending.

At ALDI, you can find a selection of fresh, high-quality ingredients to create a gourmet holiday spread that is also affordable. ALDI selections include fresh and organic produce, premium hors d’oeurves, specialty meat and cheeses, luxury wines and more.
Smart shoppers have found that switching from national brands to ALDI exclusive brands can save them up to 50 percent on more than 1,300 of the most commonly purchased grocery items.

The first ALDI store opened in 1961 in the German town of Mulheim and opened its first US store in 1976 in Iowa. Since then, ALDI has achieved steady growth and operates nearly 1,500 stores across 32 states. ALDI believes that great quality shouldn’t come at a higher price; rather, great quality should come with everyday low prices. ALDI believes its success comes from the same approach it has used for the past 40 years: smaller stores that are easier to navigate, good value for high quality, ALDI exclusive brands that are good as or better than national name brands, and keeping costs and overhead low to pass along the savings to customers.
