NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – New Haven Police are investigating a report of shots fired near 79 Carmel Street that was originally picked up on a gunfire tracking system.

The incident happened on Wednesday shortly before 1:30 p.m.

As police officers headed to the scene, a woman called 911 to report that her car had been hit by the gunfire as she was driving through the area.
