The sweet life of a Chocolatier

BOLTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Karen Munson is the third generation owner of Munson’s Chocolates. She currently serves as the company’s president.

In most businesses, employees come and go, but not at Munson’s. Many workers have been employed there for nearly 40 years. “One of the things that is supremely unique about our company is about the longevity of our staff here,” Karen said.

Munson’s also ships their chocolates to people all around the world. “A lot of times it’s people that were originally born and raised in Connecticut have relocated from the area and they really do see our product as a piece of home.” said production manager Michael Fisher.

Despite all their successes, Munson’s insists that its the history of the business that gives them the most pride. “Customers love to share their stories with us all the time. They love to tell the stories about…I remember your grandfather. I remember when your father…and all of that,” added Karen. “They love to tell their stories and share them. That means a great deal to us.”
