Warm Saturday; Tricky Forecast Sunday

Here are your Friday Evening Connecticut weather headlines from StormTeam8 Senior Meteorologist Fred Campagna:

  • Fog will develop again Friday night. Lows will be in the mid 40s.
  • Morning fog will burn off to some sunshine by 9-10 am on Saturday.
  • It will be partly sunny through midday on Saturday before clouds stream in during the mid to late afternoon.
  • Highs will be near 60 on Saturday. The record high temperature at the Shoreline is 58°.
  • Clouds will be thick Saturday night. More fog is possible. Lows will be in the mid 40s.
  • Sunday’s temperature and cloud forecast is very tricky. A back-door cold front will slide through Southern New England. The latest indications are that it will move south of CT, and the wind will shift to the east.
  • With clouds and an east wind, the temperature may not reach the upper 50s to low 60s on Sunday. Highs may be in the low to mid 50s with thick overcast skies. If the sun can break through, we’ll make a run at more records inland and at the Shoreline. Right now, we’re playing it conservatively with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Check in with Sam and Justin on News8 this weekend for the latest.
  • More mild weather is ahead for early next week.
  • It will be damp with drizzle, mist, and fog Sunday night. Lows will be in the mid to upper 40s.
  • Monday looks cloudy and damp, with some showers and mist possible, and temperatures in the mid 50s during the day.
  • The temperature will jump to near 60 Monday night as rain arrives from the west.
  • A period of moderate to heavy rain, and possibly a thunderstorm is in the forecast for Monday night.
  • The wind may gust over 30 mph Monday night.
  • Rain will end by dawn on Tuesday, and it will stay mild on Tuesday. Midday highs near 60 are possible.
  • Wednesday looks cooler, but not cold with temperatures in the low to mid 50s and partly sunny skies.
  • Showers return on Thursday, followed by colder weather into next weekend.
