Heavy Rain Today, A Big Chill Coming

Much needed rain will fall in Connecticut today, then a cold December feel will make a short stay over the weekend. Here’s what you need to know

  • Steady rain through the PM drive and evening
  • Rain will be heavy at times, especially during the PM commute.
  • Expect a very slow PM commute
  • Rain ending from 9PM-midnight
  • Slow clearing for the day on Friday, lets call it a mix of sun and clouds for the afternoon with a bit of wind
  • Temperatures around 50 then falling into the 40s during the late afternoon
  • Much colder air will arrive Friday night into Saturday
  • With the winds from the NW, expect some flurries Saturday AM
  • The strong winds will make it feel like the teens and 20s at times during the day on Saturday
  • Not as cold and windy on Sunday
  • A very active pattern starts next week
  • Monday into Tuesday may feature some light rain
  • Heavier rain certainly possible Wednesday into Christmas Eve and then again Christmas day
