HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Hartford police say they have solved a string of thefts from cars parked at the Cedar Hill Cemetery on Fairfield Avenue. Over the last six week, at least ten cars have been burglarized at the cemetery while the owners were visiting graves inside.
Police say they came up with a suspect and identified his car. Wednesday afternoon police say they spotted the car in a parking lot on Maple Avenue. The car had a stolen plate, and there was a man inside. Police arrested 40-year-old Alfredo Claudio. Police say they also discovered the car had been stolen from West Hartford in October. They say they found stolen things inside the car and were returned to their owners. Police say Claudio has a heroin problem.
Claudio is charged with Larceny, Theft of Plate, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a suspended license.
