New state troopers graduating after training


STORRS, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut welcomed 58 new State Troopers Thursday morning after completing their training.

According to the state police, the members of the 125th Training Troop graduated after six months of training from the state police training academy. The ceremony took place at the Jorgensen Auditorium on the UConn campus.

Troopers who are part of the graduating class will be reporting to their assignments after graduation to complete their field training with field training Troopers.

Colonel Brian Meraviglia, commander of the state police, as well as Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman attended the ceremony.
