Today has been a wet and gloomy day with rain and light wind out of the southeast. For Danbury temperatures have reached a high of 54 and rain will continue to increase into the evening. Major headlines today are; definitely a day for umbrellas but tomorrow will be a dry day and future forecast for Saturday, there will be a chance for flurries with much colder temperatures.
As a low pressure system over northwest New York moves eastward over the state, rain will continue to increase during the day. As the low pressure system moves farther northeast tonight into tomorrow, colder air will move in while a high pressure from the southwest builds into the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. Wind speeds will increase from 3 mph to 15 mph and even up to 18 mph as the day progresses with higher gusts possible. With a southeastern flow, temperatures will be mild for today with highs mainly in the mid 50s. As the colder air moves in for Friday into Saturday, highs will be in the upper 30s.
For tonight, there could be some late patchy fog as the rain moves out, so be careful while doing any late driving. For Friday, there will be a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures dropping into the 40s. With New Haven having a high of 47, Bridgeport a high of 46 and Danbury a high of 45. Moving into Saturday, as the flow becomes more northerly, there will be a chance for some flurries during the morning hours mainly inland areas and parts of northern Danbury.
