Starbucks flasher nabbed

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Gary Germaine, 59 of New Britain, was arrested Thursday for public indecency, after exposing himself to three women in a Starbucks parking lot.

On Tuesday, the three victims were leaving the Starbucks on Washington Avenue in North Haven and getting into their car when they encountered Germaine. Driving his gray 2004 Hyundai Sonata, equipped with a bike rack at the rear, he backed his car quickly into the adjacent parking space. When the women saw that Germaine’s genitalia was exposed, they immediately contacted police by cell phone. Seeing this, Germaine fled the area.

When they contacted police, they described the suspect as a white male with medium build, 50 to 55 years of age, with salt and pepper hair in a crew cut.

Shortly thereafter, the incident was posted to the North Haven Police Department’s Facebook page, where several tips were reported. One such tip led investigators to obtain search and arrest warrants for Gary Germaine. He was taken into custody Friday morning and charged with public indecency and breach of peace. He will be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on December 31, 2015.
