(WTNH) — It’s the last weekend before Christmas and if you are looking for something to do with your family we’ve got some ideas for you. There are lots of fun things to do all over the state – and we’ve got 8 ideas for you.

If you are in the holiday spirit stop by Lake Compounce Theme Park in Bristol. On Saturday and Sunday nights from 5 to 9 o’clock you’ll find tens of thousands of lights, strolling carolers and gingerbread house making.

How would your family like to have breakfast with Santa Claus? The annual Breakfast with Santa is happening this Saturday morning from 9 to 11 at Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant in East Lyme. Get your picture taken with Santa whether you’ve been naughty or nice.

Looking to relax and spend some time with your kids? Check out story time at Hygienic Art Galleries in New London on Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30. You can also register your kids for a new story telling and art program.

If you are looking for a new furry friend why not adopt? Choice Pet Supply in Fairfield is having a Cat & Kitten Adoption Event on Saturday. Bring a bag of dry cat food to donate between 11 and 3 o’clock and take a locally rescued cat home.

Want to find something festive that the whole family can do together? Brighten up your Sunday night at the Winter Solstice Luminary in downtown Mystic. From 5 to 8 o’clock you’ll see hundreds of luminaries throughout downtown.

Would you like to find something festive to do on Sunday afternoon? Raise your voice at the annual Community Carol Sing at Mystic Seaport. It starts at 3 o’clock, and if you bring a canned good to donate it’s free!

How would you like to get your picture taken with an alpaca? You can at Stone Bridge Farm in Griswold. It’s open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 3. You will also be able to browse clothing made from alpaca wool.

If you still have to do your holiday shopping why not make it a family event? The Silver and Gold Holiday Showcase is happening at the Velvet Mill in Stonington on Saturday night from 5 to 8 o’clock. There you will find live music, food, even a fashion show.
