New Haven Shooting Under Investigation



NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – New Haven Police are investigating a shooting that happened December 17 on Columbus Avenue around 7:15pm. A 911 call alerted police to the area.

Police say they found 42 year old Reginald Bell, sitting on the steps of a nearby house with several shots to one of his legs. His car also had a few bullet holes in it as well. Bell told investigations he was enjoying a beer with friends at the Leon & Oz Auto Repair Shop when he stepped outside and heard gunfire. The realize then that he had been shot and hid behind a nearby house. When the shooting stopped his friends called 911.

Bell’s wounds are not life threatening. There’s no description of the shooter. Police are still investigating.
