Police looking for suspect in attempted car-jacking


NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven Police are investigating an attempted car-jacking in the Elm City.

That incident happened around 4:30 Thursday afternoon in the area of Chapel and Park Streets. Police say the victim, a restaurant deliveryman, was dropping off a delivery order when someone got in his car and tried to leave.

The victim then jumped in through the hatch-back and fought to get control of the car. The suspect then crashed the vehicle into a parked car on Crown Street and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30’s. He is 5’10” tall with an average build. He is also described as having some facial hair. The assailant was wearing a light brown leather coat, jeans and a knit cap.
