Arrest made in New Haven carjacking

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – New Haven Police have made an arrest in a carjacking that happened on Friday night.

Around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, an officer with the New Haven Police Department spotted the car that had been stolen on Friday.

A woman told officers that she had been sitting in her car when two men confronted her and told her to get out of the car.

Early Sunday morning, when the officer noticed the car, the two men inside of it sped away, drove at a curb and flattened two of the car’s tires.

The driver, 17, got out of the car and was arrested.

Detectives are working to figure out if it was the same person driving the car who had stolen it.
