New Haven police-woman arrested for torching car

New Haven, Conn. (WTNH)-  A woman is facing several charges today for allegedly torching her former boyfriend’s car on Howard Avenue on Saturday night.

34 year old Andrea C. Edwards now faces charges that include arson, reckless burning, reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, vandalism, criminal mischief, criminal trespassing and violating a protective order.

According to police, Edward’s former boyfriend spotted her leaving from the backyard at about the same he noticed the car was on fire. Police also say another person saw her in the area shortly before the fire.

Police say the couple had a history of domestic violence complaints and a protective order was in place at the time of the fire.
