Theft of Woman’s Purse at Supermarket

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) – Police are asking for the public’s help, to track down the person who stole a purse right out of a shopping cart at a supermarket.

It happend at Stew Leonard’s on Westport Avenue.  Police say the suspected went into the store and took a Prada purse from a shopping cart. The purse itself is valued at $2,000. Inside it also had a red Gucci wallet valued at around $4,800 as well as cash and credit cards.

Police say the suspect got away in a white 4-door vehicle with a sunroof.
