Arrest in investigation of death of toddler in Old Saybrook

Wanted for robbery in Suffolk County, NY

OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WTNH) – Old Saybrook Police have made an arrest in their investigation of the death of a toddler who was taken from a motel over the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, police got a call about a 14-month-old child who was not breathing at the Econo Lodge Inn and Suites on the Boston Post Road. The child was taken to the hospital and died on Sunday.

During the investigation, police interviewed several witnesses including the boyfriend of the baby’s mother, Keith Frost, 29, of Old Saybrook. During their investigation they discovered Frost was wanted for robbery in Suffolk County, New York. Frost was arrested and is being held on $370,000 bond.

Frost is not charged in connection with the death of the child, but police say the investigation is “extremely active.” They are asking anyone who has any information about what happened to the child to call Police Services at (860) 395-3142.
