ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH)– A portion of I-91 north is backed up in Rocky Hill after a tractor trailer truck rolled over Tuesday afternoon.
Aetna Ambulance officials say that three ambulances responded to I-91 north between Exits 23 and Exit 24 for the report of a tractor trailer on its side. News 8 received a Report It that stated that the tractor trailer was carrying waste materials and that traffic was backed up for three miles northbound.
The Department of Transportation reports that the area is congested because the right lane is closed for the accident.
Rescue officials say they expected two patients to be transported in ambulances to area hospitals for injuries sustained in the rollover. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
There is no word on the cause of the rollover or when traffic is expected to clear. The incident remains under investigation.
