Police: Waterbury woman stabs, kills husband

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A Waterbury woman has been arrested after police say she fatally stabbed her husband.

At 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Waterbury police were called to 1295 East Main Street for a domestic disturbance. Police say that 34-year-old Anila Keco stabbed her husband, 43-year-old Valmir Keco, in the torso.

Valmir Keco was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and was pronounced dead around 3 p.m.

Prior to his death, Anila Keco was charged with first-degree assault. She appeared in court on Wednesday where she was also charged with manslaughter. She posted $200,000 bond and is due back in court on January 13.

The Keco’s have two children who were not home during the incident. Police say they are now in DCF’s custody.

Police are still investigating.
