SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Police and U.S. Marshals arrested a Shelton man on Monday, for a murder in Queens, NY.

Police said George Cupi, 52, was involved in a 2011 shooting on 125th Street that left one man injured and the other dead.

According to detectives, the shooting stemmed from an apparent traffic dispute gone wrong.

After the argument, Cupi was reported to have left the scene but returned a short time later and shot both men with a hand gun, police said.

Officers said there was no indication that Cupi had any relationship to the other two men.

He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and placed on a $100,000 bond.

Police said Cupi was awaiting extradition to New York on various charges.
