State Police release holiday highway enforcement stats


MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut State Police have been patrolling highways during the Christmas holiday.

The enforcement operation started on December 23 at 12:01 a.m.

State Police released stats from the beginning of the enforcement through Saturday at 4 p.m:

351 Accidents
42 Accidents with injury
4 Fatalities
19 DUI Arrests
313 Speeding
9 Seatbelt Violations
729 Hazardous Moving Violations

State Police will continue patrols on highways and secondary roads through the New Year’s Eve Holiday. Sobriety checkpoints will also be set up.
