Amazon calls it a “record-breaking” holiday season

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) Amazon is celebrating major milestones after this holiday season. It was a record-breaker for people signing up for their services and buying their devices. announced more than three million members worldwide joined Prime during the third week of December and an estimated 200 million more items shipped for free with Prime during the holiday season.

In addition, millions of devices were sold, doubling last years numbers.  According to an Amazon news release, the Fire tablet was the #1 best-selling, most gifted and most wished for product across the millions of items available on since its introduction 15 weeks ago.

Amazon also claims they did well among last-minute shoppers. The final Prime Now order was delivered at 11:59 p.m. on Christmas Eve to a customer in San Antonio, Texas.
