Bethany Man Arrested After Alleged Domestic Dispute

BETHANY, Conn. (WTNH)- Police arrested a Bethany man after they say he hit his ex-girlfriend with a curtain rod during a domestic dispute. Police were called to a home around 8PM on Sunday, Dec., 27. They say they found the victim with injuries to her face and head, but she refused medical help.

Police say the victim told them she was fixing her daughter’s curtain rod, while her ex-boyfriend, while 37-year-old John Calash looked for a screw driver in the basement. Police say she said Calash got mad when he couldn’t find what he was looking for, grabbed the curtain rod, and started hitting her with it. The victim was picked up by her brother and his friend, who called police.

Police say they found Calash hiding in the woods. Calash faces a number of charges, including assault.
