MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A Milford man was arrested on sexual assault charges Thursday after police say he sexually abused a juvenile for years.
Police say on October 15th of this year, they received a report of a past tense child sexual abuse of a juvenile that happened in Milford between 2008-2010.
After the Department’s Special Investigations Unit and the State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families conducted an investigation, it was determined that 45-year-old James Maher did have inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile victim.
On Christmas Eve around 9:30 a.m., Maher turned himself in to Milford police after he became aware there was a warrant for his arrest. He was charged with 4 counts of sexual assault and 4 counts of risk of injury to a minor. Maher has since posted his $75,000 bond.
