Hartford woman arrested for shopping with stolen credit cards

WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – A Hartford woman is facing charges, accused of using credit cards stolen from cars in Westport to shop in the Hartford area.  Shavonne Coachman, 32, is charged with identity theft. 

Police say she used three credit cards stolen from cars in Westport in October to ring up bills totaling nearly $7,000.  Coachman had three active warrants that came out of an extensive identity theft investigation by Westport police dating back to the fall. 

Coachman is facing a list of charges including Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 3rd Degree, and Conspiracy to Commit Illegal Use of Credit Card.  Westport police picked up Coachman from Cromwell police on Christmas day.
