Mobile Weather Lab: Slippery patches of slush, ice along roads

MILFORD/ MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH)– This wintry mix is making for a difficult morning commute across the state this morning.

News 8’s Kent Pierce was out and about this morning in our Mobile Weather Lab to give us a glimpse at the conditions around the state.

In Milford and other places along the shoreline, it is mostly rain but there are a lot of patches of slush and ice on the highways and those patches are much thicker on secondary roads. Drivers are urged to go slower than the speed limit because you need extra room to stop on the slippery roads.

While the roads are better along the shoreline, the roads more inland like in Middletown are covered in snow.  Kent even witnessed a crash due to the slick roads along I-91 in the area.

Check out the videos above for a look at the roads along the shoreline and in Middletown.
