DANIELSON, Conn. (WTNH)– A man was arrested in Danielson Tuesday after state police say they caught him with crack cocaine from a drug deal they watched take place.

Police say after several people contacted them over the increase of drug dealing near Mechanic Street, troopers set up surveillance in the area. Just before 6:30 p.m, while conducting surveillance, troopers say they observed a hand to hand drug transaction take place on the corner of Mechanic Street and Oak Street.

One of the people involved in that transaction, later identified as 46-year-old James Blakley, of Killingly, was arrested after he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine pre-packaged for street sales. Blakley was charged with possession of crack cocaine and held on $10,000 bond.

State police ask anyone with information regarding illegal sale of drugs or synthetic marijuana in the “Quiet Corner” to contact them at 860-779-4950.
