Large fire breaks out at Hartford strip mall

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Crews are on the scene of a large fire at a strip mall in Hartford Wednesday morning.

The two alarm fire broke out around 3 a.m. at a strip mall at 125 Barbour Street, near Judson Street in the North End of Hartford. The building has three businesses on the first floor, which includes J&J Market, and a residence above it.

The Fire Chief tells News 8 that the building was unoccupied at the time and that no one was injured.

There is no word on what caused the fire but fire officials say the biggest issue they had to deal with was the power lines that caught fire.

The incident is under investigation by the Fire Marshal. Barbour Street at Judson Street is closed at this time.
