Smoothie King armed robbery suspect on the loose

ORANGE, Conn. (WTNH) — Police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery at a Smoothie King restaurant in Orange on Thursday.

According to officials, the suspect was armed when he entered the store located at 350 Boston Post Road, around 4:30 pm. Witnesses tell police that the suspect approached the cashier and told her to open the register and give him all the money.

After the cashier gave him what was in the register, the suspect left the store with a small amount of money and took off in a car waiting outside, police said.

Investigators say the suspect appears to be a black male with a slender build, approximately six feet tall. During the armed robbery, he was wearing a black hoodie, a black ski mask, black jogging pants with white tie strings, black shoes, and purple or possibly pink medical-style gloves on his hands. Security cameras captured images of the suspect, as seen below.
