Fire leaves several without power in Putnam

PUTNAM, Conn. (WTNH)– A fire has forced Eversource to cut the power for dozens of customers in Putnam Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out in the early morning hours at a home at 133 Park Street. Eversource says that fire crews had to position a firetruck ladder over the wires so the power was shutdown as a safety precaution.

That shutdown impacted about 67 nearby customers. Eversource says they planned to restore power to them as soon as possible. Power has since been restored.

There are reports that someone was injured in the fire but that has not been confirmed at this time. There is also no word on what caused the fire.

The fire has been put out and remains under investigation.
