Hamden gunshot report leads to drug arrests

Hamden, Conn. (WTNH)- Two men are facing narcotics charges after Hamden police investigated reports of gunshots near Augur Street and Francis Avenue.

Police say at about one o’clock Sunday morning, officers located a vehicle parked in front of Francis that had been damaged by a bullet. Police detained two man in the car, 27 year old Omar Lewis of New Haven and 27 year old Barry White Junior of West Haven

. A search of the vehicle turned up 33 grams of heroin in addition to 2 point eight grams of marijuana.

Both men are now facing a variety of charges, including possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to selland interfering with a police officer. Both suspects have court appearances set for January 14th.
