Trumbull dentist office evacuated after chemical spill

TRUMBULL, Conn. (WTNH) — Officials responded to a small chemical spill at a dentist office on Tuesday morning.

Fire officials say at 11:30 a.m., they responded to a small chemical spill at Vaughn Family Dentistry at 2 Corporate Drive in Trumbull.

Officials say approximately an ounce of Formocresol, a disinfectant solution used by dentists, spilled and caused a strong odor.

Fire officials, along with DEEP and Fairfield County Haz-Mat evacuated the building. The space was ventilated and the building was allowed to re-occupy.

Trumbull EMS evaluated 15 people on scene and transferred six people to local hospitals as a precaution.
