Stop & Shop recalls children’s cough medicine

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Stop & Shop has voluntarily recalled a children’s cough medicine due to incorrect dosage markings.

Stop & Shop announced that it has removed Care One Children’s Mucus Relief Cough medicine from its shelves after the Perrigo Company plc recalled it due to incorrect dosage markings. Officials say the incorrect markings could result in potential overdoses.

The item recalled is:
Care One Children’s Mucus Relief Cough – Cherry Flavor, 4 oz., UPC 34152031837 with an expiration date of 3/17

Customers who have purchased this item should throw out any remaining product and bring their purchase receipt to Stop & Shop for a full refund.

This product is also sold at CVS, Rite-Aid, and Dollar General stores.

There have been no reports of illness.
