14-year-old shot while walking in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A 14-year-old was shot while walking in Hamden on Sunday night.

Police say a sergeant had heard multiple gunshots while traveling on Dixwell Avenue around 11 p.m. After an investigation, it was revealed that a 14-year-old from New Haven had been shot in the wrist, while walking in the vicinity of Dixwell Avenue and Easton Street.

Hamden Fire Rescue responded to the scene and provided medical assistance. The victim suffered a minor injury.

There is no word on any suspects at this time. Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to contact Hamden police at (203) 230-4040.
